Happiness lies in gratitude

Drawing, drumming, driving.

I’ve been thinking recently, that these 3 things I’m most passionate about in my day to day are things that I wouldn’t have the opportunity to discover or exercise if I was born/lived somewhere else in the world.

If I was born somewhere remote in North Africa, in rural India or an outlying Asian village for example — would I even have access pencils and paper?

What’s the likelihood of having two parents who love music and sing and dance just for fun at home? Having drums, knowing what a record, a CD and mp3s are — knowing who Michael Jackson, 50 Cent and Carlos Santana all are. Today, having access to stream unlimited music and create my own beats is flabbergasting in itself.

With regards to cars. Not everyone has one. Not everyone has driven one. Not everyone has even seen one. But I’ve loved cars for as long as I can remember. And here I am, blessed enough to drive when and where I choose.

It’s kind of ridiculous to reflect on how many blessings there are when you pay attention.
